Start of Garden Orchid season

Garden Orchid season has begun

It is cold outside in Holland; the breeding home of the Garden Orchid, the temperature was below freezing all this week. Garden Orchid is not frightened by these temperatures; this orchid easily defies the ice cold days of minus 15 degrees Celsius.

With these colder temperatures we are looking forward to the start of the Garden Orchid season, as we will have even more Garden Orchid varieties.

The beloved orchid now also available for the garden
The exotic beauty of orchids in your own garden? This is now possible, as these exuberant flowers are not only meant for inside use. With the easy, frost-resistant Garden Orchid you can bring the tropics into your back garden.

Select the shape, colour and height you like most of this special family of garden orchids. Whatever variant you decide to plant, at the first rays of the sun in spring the shoots sprout from the ground. They slowly unfurl their wonderful flowers, which you will be able to enjoy for weeks. This perennial plant keeps forming new shoots underground, so you can expect more fabulous flowers every year, even in the darkest corners of your garden.

Growth of Garden Orchid

Colourful new varieties
The Garden Orchid, so far known for the popular and exclusive Cypripedium, has been expanded with new family members: Pleione, Cypripedium, Calanthe and Blettila. You can create endless variations with these genuine garden orchids.

The new varieties differ in flower shape, colour and plant height, but all are ideally suited for a shady spot in the garden. The Garden Orchids are real spring bloomers and most of them flower between April and June. In all cases, every spring they become bigger, stronger and even better.

The start of the Garden Orchid season
The Garden Orchid season has begun today, even before the traditional beginning of the bulb season. At the IPM in Essen (24-27 January, 2017), Germany we are presenting the new Garden Orchid product line.
